Start the Summer with a new watch! - Bonhams July Summer Auction

I love two things in the summertime: warm weather and badass watches. The fantastic folks at Bonhams have their July auction, which features some heavy hitters and great budget-friendly options that any collector would love. There are over 100 lots available for auction, so I decided to go through the list and pick my favourite pieces.

1. Louis Vuitton White Gold Automatic GMT for Only Watch 2009 - Lot # 62

A beautiful one-of-a-kind GMT for the Only Watch auction in 2009 by Louis Vuitton and Paul Pettavino (the son of Only Watch creator Luc Pettavino.) Designed as a new take on the GMT wristwatch, the LV unique piece implemented rotating cubes to show the hour of the current timezone of the person wearing it.

2. Montblanc Nicolas Rieussec Platinum Monopusher Chronograph for Only Watch 2009 - Lot # 63

In 2007, Montblanc (owned by Richemont) decided to purchase Minerva, a brand known for its chronograph movements. The Nicolas Rieussec chronograph is a unique implementation from the brand and a line named after the watchmaker.

3. Rolex gold manual-wind ring watch, ref. 8309 - Lot # 50

The title says it all—a Rolex ring watch—a manual-wind, mechanical watch that fits around your finger. Dating back to the 1950s, this is a fantastic watch for anyone looking for something different to add to their collection.

4. Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date, ref. 1500 - Lot # 55

An absolute classic. This piece dates back to 1972 and has perfect wear and patina on the case and dial. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual is an icon in its own right, and this vintage piece is available to add to your collection.

5. DLC Rolex Air-King, ref. 14010M - Lot # 56

The 14010M has a DLC black stainless steel case, a beautiful sunburst blue dial, a fantastic contrast, and a unique spin on yet another classic watch from Rolex.

6. Gerald Genta Golf Stroke Counter - Lot # 70

Not only a watch from the most incredible mind in watchmaking, an excellent piece for the golfer in your life or yourself. The Gerald Genta Stroke Counter is just one example of innovation and design from the mind of a horological genius.
